What is a Life Story Drawing?
A Life Story Drawing is the visual result of a conversation where Deep Listening is being practiced. This creates a field where long forgotten, never shared, bittersweet, new and/or celebrated Memories present themselves to unfold a Life Story in a way it has never been told before.
Who is a Life Story Drawing for?
Life Story Drawings are a true gift to honor the Life of our Elders (Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Parents). Their stories contain both family treasures as well as cultural pearls we need to preserve.
The Life Story Conversation is like a trip down Memory Lane and and has a healing and uplifting effect for everyone involved. It is so soothing for the one being heard to feel their Life and Experiences matter to us. Feeling and knowing their courage throughout Life is being acknowledged offers them comfort. They find Peace with the choices made, the Life Path chosen, and they feel honored they may share this in such a remarkable way.
How can you order a Life Story Drawing?
We agree on a day and moment for me to meet your favorite Elder person (in their home, their care facility, your place). Depending on distance to be traveled, a small fee may be added. Or…if you are an Elder person and would like to surprise your family, that’s very well possible too! The conversation usually takes up no more than 2,5 hours. The result is a drawing. It takes me about two weeks to finish off the drawing after the conversation. You can opt to pick up the drawing or have it delivered through mail.
